Tenerife resorts...
Golf del Sur and Amarilla Golf are approximately 15 minutes drive away from Reina Sofia Airport and as the names would suggest are popular golf resorts. Golf del Sur has a 27 hole championship golf course and Amarilla Golf has an 18 hole golf course. Both are low key resorts and attract visitors of all nationalities who want a relaxing holiday in peaceful surroundings. The San Blas commercial centre has a wide and varied selection of bars and restaurants, some offering nightly entertainment and plenty of shops to browse around. The San Miguel marina is home to the ‘Yellow Submarine Safari’s’ and other water sports as well as a café where you can enjoy a refreshing drink in a beautiful environment with breathtaking views. El Medano, known for its ‘International wind surfing competitions’ is located close by and the tiny fishing village of Los Abrigos, popular for its restaurants is 5 minutes away by car. Costa del Silencio is approximately 20 minutes away from the Airport and is one of the first purpose built holiday resorts in Tenerife. The downside to this resort is the absence of a beach, however, nearby Las Galletas, a traditional Canarian fishing village within walking distance of Costa del Silencio, has adapted well and now boasts a pretty promenade with bars and fish restaurants overlooking the beach and the harbour has been extended to cope with an increase in sailing trips. Los Cristianos is about 20 minutes drive away from Reina Sofia Airport and is as popular today as it was 30 years ago. What used to be a tiny fishing village is now a bustling town, yet has managed to retain some of its quaint Canarian charm, while the church is the centre of attention for the town’s fiestas. Nightlife in Los Cristianos is low key, with a few of the bars offering live music, karaoke, quiz nights and dancing. Restaurants offer a good selection of international and local cuisine in a beautiful environment. The town centre is a maze of avenues with a mixture of shops selling traditional Spanish or Canarian goods, duty free merchandise, souvenirs and well known clothing brands.Go back to previous page.
Playa de las Americas is 25 minutes drive away from the Airport and is the islands fun-packed party capital with a lively and vibrant nightlife with some of the best nightclubs in Tenerife. The centre of Playa de Las Americas is where you will find the popular night spots of the ‘Patch’, ‘Starco’ and ‘Veronicas’ and the well known pubs and clubs, such as Linekars, Rags and Tramps. By day Las Americas is a bustling resort with plenty of shops to browse and activities to enjoy. The bars and restaurants offer a relaxing environment in which to enjoy lunch and a refreshing drink. San Eugenio and Torviscas are part of Las Americas, although the nightlife in both these resorts are low key in comparison. San Eugenio and Torviscas have good shopping centres with large supermarkets and many cafés, bars and restaurants in which to enjoy light refreshments or an evening meal. Fanabe is approximately 30 minutes drive from the airport in the south of Tenerife. This resort is considered to be an up-market resort that attracts young families and mature couples looking for a quiet holiday. The beautiful promenade facing the beach has a good selection of bars and restaurants that are perfect for relaxing and enjoying a light lunch or evening meal. Del Duque is about 30 – 35 minutes from the airport and only a couple of minutes walk from Fanabe and is Tenerife’s most prestigious resort offering 5 star luxury accommodation and quality restaurants with excellent service set in beautiful surrounding. La Caleta is a small Canarian fishing village about 35 minutes from Reina Sofia Airport. Mass tourism has escaped this tiny village, yet is attracts visitors throughout the year who enjoy its beauty. Along with traditional fish restaurants and cafés, La Caleta has modern restaurants where you can enjoy some of the best traditional food or simply relax and enjoy a refreshing drink, while admiring the scenery. Lanzarote Resorts
Puerto del Carmen is approximately 20 minutes drive from the airport at Arrecife and is the busiest resort in Lanzarote, situated on the east coast. Costa Teguise, north of Arrecife is only 15 minutes drive away from the airport. The resort is very peaceful and attracts young families, mature couples and singles, the nightlife is low key and the standard of accommodation is extremely good. There are plenty of shops to browse around and a good selection of bars and restaurants offering local and international cuisine. The only golf course on Lanzarote is in Costa Teguise, making it the perfect location for golf enthusiasts. There is also a large water park with plenty of rides to keep the whole family entertained for hours. Playa Blanca is about 45 minutes drive from the airport in Arrecife. As with many of the popular resorts in the Canary Islands, Playa Blanca was originally a small fishing village. Today however, the area, situated in the south of Lanzarote has developed into a very popular destination for holidaymakers with a beautiful promenade along the sea front. The mix of traditional and modern is a great success. The new Marina ‘Rubicon’ at the east of the resort includes restaurants and designer boutiques to complement the luxury yachts that are moored here. There is a good choice of accommodation to suit all budgets and there are a number of bars and restaurants to choose from and if you fancy a change of scenery, you can take the ferry to Fuerteventura for a fabulous day out. Gran Canaria Resorts

Playa del Inglés is Gran Canarias largest resort, and party capital. The resort is a very popular with all nationalities and age groups and is the ideal location for groups of friends as well as couples looking for lazy days and an active nightlife. There are around 12 commercial centres in Playa del Inglés and each one houses a wide and varied selection of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as banks, supermarkets, amusement arcades, nightclubs and childrens play areas. Maspalomas shares its stretch of beach with neighbouring Playa del Inglés and is home to the famous sand dunes, a vast area of troughs and hills of sand. The dunes are very popular with both holidaymakers and residents and they do get busy at the weekends. There are no facilities, so if you do venture into this area, it is wise to take refreshments with you. Maspalomas is also well known for its 18 hole golf course. Designed by Mackenzie Ross, the course is very long and flat with wide lanes and surrounded by dunes. The proximity of the sea and the gentle breeze makes for a great experience even on the hottest days. The course has a practice green and driving range along with a shop, snack bar and restaurant. Meloneras is the newest area of Maspalomas and the most luxurious. A commercial centre houses up-market boutiques and jewellery shops and the promenade is lined with several hi-class restaurants with beautifully furnished terraces overlooking the sea. Puerto Rico is situated on the south west coast of Gran Canaria and built around 2 hills. The resort is suitable for families, couples and singles, however it is very steep in some areas so may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties, steps have been built to make life a little easier, and there is a local bus service for getting around the area. At one side of Puerto Rico there is a water park and at the other side there are tropical gardens leading to the pretty promenade lined with bars, restaurants and shops. Go back to previous page.
Puerto Mogan is possibly one of the prettiest resorts on the island. This former fishing village has been transformed and is known locally as ‘little Venice’ with its two storey houses, yacht filled harbour and pretty floral walkways and canal bridges. La Gomera Resorts

San Sebastion is the islands capital and the principle town of commerce and administration and has the largest harbour on the island where you will find large yachts moored. The town has many places of interest, so is well worth visiting and soaking up the atmosphere. The locals like to meet up in the town’s squares and enjoy lunch with friends. Agulo is known to be one of the first towns ever to have been built on La Gomera and is considered to be the most beautiful. The town is located in front of a cliff face directly above the sea with beautiful views of Mount Teide on the neighbouring island of Tenerife. El Hierro
Apart from a wide and varied selection of outdoor activities and sports on offer, El Hierro has some breathtaking natural sites to be seen, incredible cuisine to be sampled and the beaches on El Hierro are definitely well worth a visit. The cliffs surrounding the beaches have been declared a national monument because of their geo-morphological value and Timijiraque is particularly fascinating! The El Golfo depression is one of the most spectacular sites on the island.
Ventijis is a mountain range, located in the north east of the island, the views are simply stunning and a must see while you are staying on the island. Frontera Rural is the largest park with a huge variety of ecosystems. Aboriginal ruins and rock engravings can be seen at El Julan and the area known as La Restinga is where the most recent volcanic activity took place.
Other must see sites on El Hierro include the Craft Centre in Valverde, the Punta Grande Hotel (smallest hotel in the world!), the Conservation and Research Centre and the Guinea Eco Museum in Frontera. Go back to previous page.

Corralejo is around 45 minutes drive from the airport near Puerto del Rosario. This large resort is where tourism began on the island and is now well known for its sand dunes. The island’s largest market is held in Corralejo every Monday and Friday and can be found next to the water park. The old town has retained much of its heritage and is centred around the harbour. Morro Jable is about 100km from the airport and is a major tourist resort that began as a fishing village and has managed to retain some of that Spanish charm.
